Design Associate

Mayker is looking for a Design Associate to join our interiors team. The Design Associate is responsible for providing thoughtful design services to our clientele, whether that be an interior design project or a home stage project. We're in the market for someone with a killer eye and natural design instinct with project management skills to match.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Become a Mayker expert with a fluent knowledge and appreciation for our brand’s services, house style, and products

  • Lead select home stage design projects from concept to completion, clearly owning all phases of the project and client experience. Home stage projects are showcases of our team’s foundational interior design services, and are critical marketing opportunities to put our services and products in best light. Ownership areas include:

    • Evaluating new properties to stage — quickly determining a design concept for the home utilizing Mayker’s furniture and styling inventory

    • Translating that design concept to a detailed and actionable plan

    • Collaborating with the delivery and interiors team to select and pack inventory and details — reviewing load list with warehouse manager to ensure each home is well-prepared

    • Supervising delivery and placement of inventory in the home, as well as put finishing touches on the space — including but not limited to styling the rooms, making beds, and accessorizing thoughtfully with plants, art, and details

    • Serving as on-site stylist with photographer for project photos

    • Creating a “shoppable” experience within the home

    • Submitting a Design Debrief for each job, identifying issues with install/inventory or needs for move outs

  • Lead select interior design projects from concept to completion, clearly owning all phases of the project and client experience. Ownership areas include:

    • Collaborating with architects, interior designers, clients, consultants and vendors.

    • Developing design concepts and ideas, and translating those ideas to clients effectively via concept boards, renderings, and proposals

    • Selecting furnishings, small goods, and materials for a variety of project types.

    • Developing proposals and presentation materials to support selections, as well as making refinements based on feedback

    • Coordinating with internal team for product fulfillment

    • Overseeing installation and styling of final design

WHO YOU ARE

  • A person who gets it done. You’re determined, articulate and diplomatic. You understand the value of exceptional work done in a timely manner, and you’re keen to exceed expectations.

  • Versatile. You love being on-site and behind a computer. Changing dynamics excite you and don’t drain you.

  • Excellent with time management; you thrive on working autonomously and know how to prioritize projects.
