Floral & Event Designer

Mayker is looking for a Floral & Event Designer to join the Events team. The Designer works closely with other members of the Events Team to develop, lead and execute design solutions for floral and décor productions and sample presentations. This position requires a strong working knowledge of event design with significant emphasis on visual impact experiences. We're in the market for someone with a killer eye and natural design instinct with project management skills to match. The ideal fit is a highly organized individual with a positive work ethic, bright design mind, and crazy good operational skills.


  • Works with Events Team to brainstorm and design events and help lead them to execution

  • Demonstrates senior knowledge of floral design and production/installation

  • Supports the Events Team in the design and fabrication of successful sample presentations

  • Collaborates and brainstorms with Events Team to conceptualize event designs. Interprets needs, style and budgetary guidelines to effectively create designs both in-house and on-site

  • Executes original floral designs as per client specifications and on budget. Event execution includes but isn’t limited to:

    • Budgeting

    • Sourcing flowers

    • Hiring and managing a team of freelancers

    • Creating and executing a production schedule

    • Prepping vessels and processing flowers

    • Designing

    • Installing events

    • Overseeing tear down

  • Develops cross-functional relationships with the team to collaborate, brainstorm, design and execute décor

  • Participates in meetings with Events Team to discuss and brainstorm new design trends and how they can impact the company

  • Applies knowledge of both floral and event trends to designs, including color, seasonal availability, and durability for production work

  • Stays on top of general administrative work, ensuring our creativity is always well organized



  • Strong visual eye that fits naturally with the Mayker aesthetic

  • Comfortable navigating between left-brained and right-brained tasks (design <--> organization)

  • Clearly and confidently communicate and present design decisions and mood boards

  • Familiar with construction, props, fabrication, and lighting.

  • Well-versed in aligning creative visions with budgetary goals

  • No problem flipping projects quickly and efficiently

  • Hard-working, flexible, and always works to exceed expectations

  • A superb instinct for style, visual composition and attention to detail

  • Extremely comfortable on-site and under deadline

  • A self-starter who is good at taking direction and running with it
